Dear Yahaya,
My name is Zubaida Abubakar, I am the RH/PMTCT officer working
with FHI-GHAIN. Let me start by thanking you for the copy of
PIDE’s
2007 annual report sent through the then senior RH/PMTCT
advisor, Dr. Usman Gwarzo, your work with youth is applauded.
I want to take this opportunity to
introduce your organization (in case you have not come across
them), to some of the tools that the YouthNet project produced
which, FHI is ensuring their utilization through support of the
interagency Youth Working Group. The Interagency Youth Working
Group (IYWG) provides global technical leadership to advance the
reproductive health and HIV/AIDS outcomes of young people ages
10-24 in developing countries.
The tools include:
1- Family Life Education- A handbook for adults working with
youth from a Christian perspective
2- Teaching adults to communicate with
youth from the Muslim and Christian perspectives
3- HIV counseling and testing for Youth
(A manual for providers)
4- Standards for Peer education programs
